Obituary for Richard G. Young
RICHARD G. YOUNG, 75
East Liverpool – Wellsville resident, Richard G. Young, passed away at East Liverpool City Hospital at 5:29 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 following a brief illness. He was 75.
Rich was a son to the late Eric and Clara Martin Young, Sr. and he was born on April 1, 1943 in Buffalo, New York. He was active in DeMolay while attending high school.
He worked as a long haul truck driver before his retirement and as an owner-operator Rich was under contract with The Kaplan Trucking Co. for many years.
In addition to his parents Rich was preceded by his wife, Lois McCollam Young on February 2, 1999, and by a daughter, Christina Young While, on October 6, 2017.
Rich is survived by his daughter, Catherine “Taffi” Young of Austintown, his two sisters, Patricia Rodgers and Susan Barnes both of Wellsville, as well as a brother, Eric Young, Jr., of San Clemente, California. He is also survived by his companion Donna McCuen of Wellsville.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Evangelist Will Montgomery will officiate at a funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 4 p.m. Burial will be at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
