Obituary for Ruby I. Osborn (Knapp)

Mrs. Ruby I. Osborn, 100, of Riverview Street died at 3 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011at City Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1911, at Smiths Ferry, Pa., a daughter of the late Howard B. and Dora Knapp. She was a member of the Wellsville Class of 1929 and lived most of her life in East Liverpool.
She worked at Ogilvie’s Department Store and J.C. Penney’s and retired from Hills Department Store.
A member of the First Church of Christ (Disciples), she also attended its Sigma Alpha Sunday School Class. She was a past Lady Elk and was a member of the Golden Aires and Area Seniors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene V. Osborn, who died Nov. 10, 1981.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marion Freeman of East Liverpool, and two sons, Thomas L. Osborn and his wife, Linda, and Greg A. Osborn, all of East Liverpool.
Also preceding her in death were two sons, Richard G. Osborn and a stillborn son, Howard B. Knapp; a half sister, Mrs. Irene Vos, and a brother, Everett Knapp.
There are 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home with Rev. Willard “Chuck” Adkins officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Burial is to be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
