Obituary for Cornelia Jane Carter (Ibbs)

East Liverpool, Ohio- Cornelia “Jane” Ibbs Carter, 88, of Lang Street, formerly of Garner Avenue, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the East Liverpool City Hospital at 4:55 p.m. following a brief illness.

Born September 26, 1926 at East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Robert F. and Mary Alma LeMoine Ibbs. A lifetime area resident, she worked at the former Thrift Drug Store in the Hills Plaza in Calcutta for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, Warren A. “Bud” Carter, whom she married June 6, 1947, died November 17, 2002. She is survived by three daughters, Lois Ann Lambert and her husband, Sonny of Coleville, WA, Janice Lynn Carter and her companion Jim Buzzard of East Liverpool, and Nancy McCullough of Little Rock, AR; as well as two sons, Larry A. Carter and his wife, Anne of Omaha, Nebraska, and James Michael Carter of Florida.

There are four grandchildren, Sarah Borders and her husband, Brandon, Brad McCullough and his wife, Erin, Jeffrey Carter, and Erin Carter.

In addition, she also leaves behind one sister, Mary Warren and her husband, James of Melbourne, Florida; and one brother, Kenneth L. Ibbs of East Liverpool.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. The Reverend Tanta Hendricks will officiate a funeral service Wednesday at 11:00 a. m. at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church on Park Boulevard in East Liverpool.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Immediately following the service family and friends will gather at the church.
