Obituary for James E. Neville Sr.

James E. Neville, Sr., of Railroad Street, East Liverpool, passed away Thursday morning, January 1, 2015 at the East Liverpool City Hospital. He was 72.

Born in East Liverpool, March 31, 1942, a son of the late Ross Neville and Dorothy Southall Adams, he was a lifetime area resident. A member of the Friendship Gospel Tabernacle, he worked construction for many years and retired as a member of the Laborers’ International Union Local 809. Previously he had worked at Riverview Greenhouse as a truck driver, Ferro Corporation, Brown Construction and American Vitrified.

His wife survives at home, Pearl Owens Neville. The couple married on December 2, 1962.

There are two daughters, Brenda Mason, and her husband Jim, of Lancaster, Ohio, and Christine Wilson of East Liverpool, along with two sons, James E. Neville, Jr. of East Liverpool and William Neville of Wellsville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include two sisters, Joyce Berdine and Patty Ritteger of East Liverpool.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Sandra Neville.

Friends may visit Sunday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Jim Cochran will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
