Clyde T. “Dove” Smith, 67

CALCUTTA – Clyde Thomas “Dove” Smith, 67, of Old Fredericktown Road in East Liverpool, passed away at Lifeline Hospital in Wintersville at 9:59 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, with his wife at his side.

Born in Grove City, PA on July 6, 1948, he was a son of the late Clyde Kenneth Smith and Hilda Kearns Smith.

Clyde owned and operated his own truck for the former Tri-State Asphalt Co., and Shelly & Sands Inc., retiring in 2013. He was a member of the East Liverpool Elks Lodge #258, as well as the Salineville Masonic Lodge #348 F&AM.

Surviving him at home is his beloved wife, Mary Mayers Smith, whom he married on September 23, 1970. Clyde also leaves behind a brother, Kenneth R. Smith and his wife, Sally, of St. Albans, VT.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by a brother, John J. Smith.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Masonic service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rev. Tanta Luckhardt-Hendricks, retired pastor of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, will officiate at the service to be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
