WILLIE J. SCOTT, 63

EAST LIVERPOOL – Willie J. Scott, born and raised in East Liverpool, passed away at Trinity West in Steubenville at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016 following a battle with cancer. He was 63.

Born on February 11, 1953, he was a son of Charlie Mae Ashley Scott, with whom he resided in East Liverpool, and the late John Scott. He was a 1971 graduate of East Liverpool High School, where he had been a member of the football team. Willie was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Midland as a child.

A Vietnam veteran, Willie served with the U.S. Air Force in Germany. He had been employed at Freshmark in Salem, retiring after 20 years.

When he wasn’t working, he was spending time with his family, whom he cherished.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Christopher M. Scott, as well as a grandson, Isaac Scott, both of Westerville.

There are two sisters and two brothers: Rose Doster of Mesa, AZ; Elizabeth Younger and her husband, Al, of Harrisonburg, VA; Sam Scott and his wife, Mary, of Columbus; and Tommie Scott of East Liverpool, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Willie was preceded in death by two brothers, John H. Scott and Charles Scott.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Pastor Ernest Peachey of the Second Baptist Church will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
