On Thursday evening, March 22, 2018, John Neal Thompson, Jr. passed away suddenly at the age of 28. “Bird”, as he was well-known by his family and friends, was a lifelong East Liverpool resident.

He was born on May 7, 1989 in East Liverpool, a beloved son of John N. Thompson, Sr. of East Liverpool, and Ginnie Davis of Niles.

In addition to his daughter, John is survived by his father, John, and step-mother, Rachel; his mother, Ginnie, and step-father, Phil; his siblings, Darla Davis, Brittney Cowdery, Jaiden Foden, Johnna Thompson, Dylan Thompson, Aubriah Foden, and Dwaine Thompson, all of East Liverpool, along with two nieces, Taliah and Tiana, and a nephew, Ty’Jon. His paternal grandparents, Diana and Michael Thompson, Sr., also of East Liverpool; maternal grandmother, Virginia Davis of Warren, Ohio; maternal great-grandmother, Harriet Krotzer of Niles; and paternal great-grandmother, Mary Carter, of East Liverpool. Lanae’s mother, Desiree Browning, survives as well.

John was blessed with many special cousins, including Nikki Thompson, whom he considered a sister. He also leaves behind aunts Billie Jo O’Malley, Carrie Davis, Vonda Thompson, Alycia Thompson, and Chessa Coleman, and uncles Michael Thompson, Jr., William Thompson, Blake Thompson, and Blair Thompson.

Preceding him in death was maternal grandfather, Larry Davis; uncle Ty Thompson; aunt Darla Thompson; cousin Jasmine Petties-Thompson; great-uncle Terry Thompson; great-great aunt Bonnie Griffine; and many other loved ones.

In his mom’s eyes, he will forever be her “Bubbles” – to his dad, he will always be “Ace.”
