Obituary for Frank J. Flaherty, Jr.

EAST LIVERPOOL – Francis J. “Frank” Flaherty, Jr., of Birch Road, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home. He was 43.

Born in East Liverpool, February 10, 1975, he was a son of Terri Fone Wooten (Jesse, Sr.) of East Liverpool and Francis J. “Frank” Flaherty, Sr. of Arizona. A resident of this area most of his life, he was a commercial painter with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council #57 of Western Pennsylvania Local 530.

Catholic by faith, he was a graduate of the New Castle School of Trades where he earned a degree in Electrical Technology.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Wolfe Flaherty at home. The couple married April 25, 1997. Together they have two daughters, Brianne Flaherty and Dana Flaherty, both of East Liverpool.

He will also be sadly missed by his maternal grandmother Mary Jane Fone of Lisbon, his paternal grandmother Rose Marie Flaherty of Arizona, a sister Nikki Soto of Arizona, two brothers Jesse Wooten, Jr. (Misty) of Texas, and Joseph Flaherty of Arizona, and a mother-in-law Patricia Wolfe of East Liverpool and a sister-in-law Erica Brabent (David) of Salem.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Fone and John Flaherty, Sr., as well as his father-in-law Thomas Wolfe.

Friends may visit Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
