Obituary for Ella Rea Beagle (Hashman)

ELLA REA BEAGLE, 96

EAST LIVERPOOL – Ella Rea Beagle, of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 12:42 a.m. at the Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was 96.

A daughter of the late John Thomas and Mary Ellen Watson Hashman, she was born in St. Mary’s, West Virginia on April 4, 1922.

Ella was a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester and was a homemaker who loved her family.

In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded by her husband, Glenn William Beagle, whom she married on May 17, 1943, as well as a son, Glenn G. Beagle who died on November 29, 2009.

Surviving Ella are her four daughters: Vera Groves, and her husband “Buck”, of Chester, Navella Howard, of East Liverpool, Lorretta McCoy and her husband Dave of Chester, and Marcella Martin of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Michael Allen Howard, Steven Mark Howard, Brandon Erik Groves, Aaron Paul Martin, Kelly Ree Martin, Gayle Lynne Williams, Peter Wesley Beagle, Sara Nichole Beagle, Nathan LeRoy Bayless, Bronwyn Suzanne Botts and Britney Alayna Clay. There are 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Ella is also survived by her daughter-in-law Jane Lynne Beagle.

Ella is also preceded by six sisters, Verna Hashman, Margie Boley, Essie Taylor, Vinia Smith, Bell Edwards and Goldia Hashman, as well as seven brothers, Hezzie, Charles, Frank, Ernest, James, Clarence and Bernard Hashman. She was also preceded by one grandson Glenn Christopher “Chris” Beagle.

Friends may visit Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Evangelist Buck Groves, Ella’s son-in-law, will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
