Loretta F. Conrad Lynn, 78

SALEM - Loretta F. Conrad Lynn, 78, passed away early Friday morning, June 29, 2018 at her home in Salem following a brief battle with cancer.

Born September 2, 1939 in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Jessie Hall Conrad.

Loretta was a graduate of the Olney Friends Boarding School and the Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing in Salem. She had worked for the former Nentwick’s Nursing Home as an LPN for over 20 years before retiring. She had also worked at hospitals in Salem, Ravenna and Alliance.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Thomas J. Lynn on August 8, 1988, her son Todd E. Shearer on September 26, 2002, a sister Carol Anne Conrad, and a brother Theodore Conrad.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Barnard of Carnegie, PA, and Jennifer Kovach and her husband David, of Coraopolis, PA. There are four sisters, Linda Borrelli and Sally Thayer and her husband Robert, all of Salem, Bonnie Schmauch of Coral Springs, FL, and Debbie Beeson of New Port Richie, FL, as well as a brother Thomas Conrad of Hermitage, PA. Loretta has three grandsons, Joshua and Jordan Barnard, and Zachary Pickrell, and a great-granddaughter Sophie Steiner.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Schrock officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will take place in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
