Christmas Pickle

During the family reunion 2010 , I spent a good bit of time chatting with Aunt Marian and Uncle Harold. While speaking about family holiday traditions they shared with great animation their "Christmas pickle " . They described how they had come upon it and the history of the concept. Uncle Harold had that special twinkle in his eye and Aunt Marian looked at him with such adoration! It makes my heart happy to think of them together like that. I hope that the family can continue these traditions in spite of their grief this year.
