Sons

Dr. Jackson was a true gentleman and a scholar. I had the privilege of knowing him when I was a student nurse; working with him as a registered nurse; and, visiting him as a patient (usually an OB patient). He delivered all seven (7) of my sons over a 13 year period. I was his last OB patient in 1984. It was a bittersweet moment when he delivered son #7, Micah, for it meant Dr. Jackson would no longer be delivering babies. After a successful delivery Dr. Jackson came into my room and visited for well over an hour "remembering" his years delivering babies. I had given him a keepsake of sorts...pictures of my seven sons. I had taken pictures into his office over the years and he kept them displayed for a long time.He gave me a special blessing. He returned my OB fee, telling me to get what I needed for Baby Boy #7. I was surprised and thankful!  He made a definite impression on my eldest son, Jay(43y). Jay broke his leg and Dr. Jackson was his doctor. He asked Jay what he wanted to do after graduation and Jay quietly, in almost a whisper, said that he wanted to be a mechanic. (Jay told me he was embarassed that someone as well educated as Dr. Jackson would think being a mechanic a menial job.) Dr. Jackson didn't miss a beat! He stated that as long as there were cars on the road mechanics would always be needed. Jay just beamed and today he is ASE certified and troubleshoots across the wires from California to Ohio. Dr. Jackson made my son's day! Like I stated before...a true Gentleman and Scholar.  He will be missed. Thank you Dr. Jackson for being a kind, gentle, dedicated doctor!
